Kian has been loving the sunny weather! We have made several trips to the park this week. You can see them all by clicking on this picture. Yep, Scott has revolutionized the way we blog. I’m not quite sure how to put albums up yet, but I will learn! The pictures of Kian in the jean jacket were taken Saturday and the orange shirt pictures are from today. He LOVES the slide, even the big bumpy one, and he has no fear. Which makes me even more fearful that one day we’ll see him competing in the X Games. It is kind of weird to see the littlest guy on the playground trying to climb up the slide or off the ledge! But for now we are just enjoying the park by our house. Kian still tries to eat the rocks and bark chips but usually if I ask him to give them to me, he will. Such a giver!

Fun in the Sun

Okay, so I don’t think we’re going to rotate the pictures below. You’ll just have to tilt your head!
The Next Picasso?
February 21, 2008(We’re working on getting these pictures rotated the right way)
I think not. Every Thursday morning we go to art class for babies at the Rec. Center. I know, you’re thinking ART CLASS??? Well see, I couldn’t do swimming lessons because he’s had ear infections and it was the middle of winter. They didn’t offer baby sign language classes and he was too old for the gymboree exercise classes. So we are developing his creative side! Actually, Kian hates the paint. The teacher sets up stations with chalk, a fun activity (the oatmeal picture – sometimes it is beans or water, but this week it was oatmeal), finger paint, real paint with brushes, sponges, cotton balls and trucks to drive through the paint, oh – and there are easels too! Anyway, as soon as Kian touches the fingerpaint he wiggles his fingers in the air because he doesn’t like the texture – notice the “Unhappy Painter” picture – and I actually painted that! And last week I tried to get him to use the paint brush and he dropped it on my pants. It never ceases though, every week he goes right to the chalk easel – not to draw, but to hoard all the chalk and eat it. So I have learned that I could go to Walmart and buy him a bin of chalk instead of signing him up for art class and he would be just as happy. But then we’d have pictures of him at Walmart. So I guess this was worth it! He sure looks creative!
Monkey Boy
February 8, 2008Tracey told me she had caught Kian trying to crawl out of his crib lately. Today I was trying to put him down for a nap and he really wasn’t interested in napping. I decided to let him have some time in the crib until he started trying to climb out. He wasn’t just trying, he was succeeding. I had my phone and snapped this picture before I picked him up and explained why crawling out of your crib is a bad idea.

A successful day!
